American Express – SME Sentiment Campaign


American Express undertook research among the SME community as part of its commitment to better understand their challenges and to help build awareness of the findings and identify practical solutions. H/Advisors Cicero was tasked with writing, designing, and delivering a report based on the final analysis.

Strategy and execution

H/Advisors Cicero’s research team provided the written content covering a number of key themes, and designed and developed graphics and individual assets to illustrate this analysis. This included the creation of infographics, pop-up banners and TV screen-savers. To launch the research, we then arranged an event for MPs, politicians, and key spokespeople.


  • The report was delivered to 500 key media targets.
  • On arrival at the event, guests enjoyed a glass of champagne, and were keen to have their photos taken with ‘Supporting SMEs Pledge Cards’. Through this initiative politicians and other individuals could publicly pledge their support for UK SMEs, whether in parliament or through their constituency.
  • The Rt Hon. Baroness Garden of Frognal gave a warm welcome to a full room of attendees, where she outlined the importance of SMEs to the UK and praised the positive findings of the research.
