Cicero/amo nominated for CorpComms award for Best Corporate Campaign

Cicero/amo has been nominated for Best Corporate Campaign at the 2021 CorpComms Awards for its work on the gender pensions gap with NOW: Pensions.

In 2017, it became a requirement for UK businesses with 250+ employees to report their gender pay gap. This resulted in NOW:Pensions considering if a similar gender pensions gap existed.  This led to the gender pension gap report with the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) in July 2019. It was an underreported issue hiding in plain sight.

Cicero/amo set out to help NOW:Pensions tackle the gender pensions gap, we worked alongside the PPI and researched data over a 12-month period (October ’19 to October ’20) using a sample size of over 100,000 individuals and 40,000 UK households. Research into under-pensioned groups in the UK hadn’t been done before in such depth.

In December 2020, Cicero/amo launched a groundbreaking report for NOW:Pensions identifying the seven under-pensioned groups in the UK; single mothers, divorced women, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people, people with disabilities, carers, self-employed and multiple job holders. The research highlighted huge inequalities in pension savings. These groups were reaching retirement age with just 15% of the pension savings of the UK average. It was vital that we formulated a plan that would showcase these findings to as wide an audience as possible in order to effect policy change.

The awards ceremony takes place on 23 November 2021.
