Account Director – UK Public Affairs – Financial Services

Cicero/amo are looking for an Account Director to join our fast-growing and award-winning UK Public Affairs team.

In this role, the successful candidate will develop and enhance client relationships whilst overseeing the overall direction and delivery of strategic client UK public affairs activity.

In this particular role we are looking for a candidate to take a leading role in our Financial Services sector accounts but may also gain exposure to a variety of clients and sectors across FS, FinTech, Technology, Energy and Transport and Infrastructure.

This role requires the ability to motivate and engage account teams to deliver outstanding performance and service to clients.

Role Responsibilities:

 

Account Management:

  • Responsibility for developing and delivering strategic client objectives
  • Responsibility for quality control and client satisfaction
  • Responsibility for working with account colleagues on resource management and revenue targeting
  • Maintain strategic overview of account, and proactively advise client on new issues/external environment and contribute to strategic planning meetings with client.
  • Ensure resourcing within the account is appropriate at all times
  • Responsibility for account/project profitability and maintaining agreed fee income
  • Responsibility for negotiating and establishing financial arrangements with client

 

Client liaison:

  • Maintaining excellent relations with client sponsors
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to expand Cicero’s service offerings to clients
  • Oversee and lead client marketing and retention
  • Organise regular and timely meetings with colleagues to ensure service levels are maintained.

 

Business development:

  • Create and develop opportunities for growing existing business
  • Assist with development and presentation of new business opportunities

 

Professional relations:

  • Responsibility for building and maintaining key relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and policy makers
  • Demonstrate innovation and creativity in presenting new ideas
  • Monitor and investigate ‘market intelligence’ using the views of opinion leaders
  • Managing Account Executives and Senior Account Executives on the team and providing direction to Account Managers where needed.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant parliamentary knowledge & understanding and interest.
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a relatable role (preferably with some prior consultancy experience).
  • Financial Services regulatory knowledge and experience.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with team members, key audiences and clients in written and verbal formats

  • Demonstrate ability to research and analyse.
